Altavista Fire Company The Altavista Fire Company is a group of dedicated volunteers who help our
community by providing fire suppression and emergency response services as
well as fire education and prevention services. The AFC provides its services
to Town residents and to residents on the southwestern end of Campbell
County. The AFC is always looking for dedicated individuals to volunteer and
become a member of the department. If you or someone you know is interested

medical services to the Altavista area as well as southwestern Campbell
County and to Hurt and northern Pittsylvania County. The Altavista EMS is
always looking for dedicated individuals to volunteer and become a member of

The Altavista Police Department serves only the Town of Altavista although the department works closely with and provides mutual aid to the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department, the Hurt Police Department, the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Department, and the Virginia State Police. If you need to speak to the police department about a non-emergency (such as speaking to an officer about a case, inquiring about a police report, getting a copy of an accident report, etc.), call the Police Department administrative number-369-7425. Do not dial 9-1-1 for non-emergency calls. Should you need to speak to an officer about a case and they are not working at the time you call, simply leave a message and the officer will call you back at a mutually convenient time. The Administrative Offices are open between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The Altavista Police Department is a proud member of the Central Virginia Crime Stoppers.
